Now that (thanks to Feedburner) I have a circulation of 1 (so far) I guess I should try to write a little more often, maybe drag a few more sorry souls into my readership.
I wish I could talk more about my work because sometimes it is very interesting, alas for legal reasons (like the fact that I could be sued for leaking too much info to competitors) I will refrain from that.
Instead I am just going to mention things that I think are interesting and funny! For example Some good ol Engrish regarding computers!
And because I said this was going to be all about photography.. (Turns out it will probably just be about stuff that I like. At least photography is one of those things. Other things are gadgets, geeky computer things, perhaps even geeky things not related to computers.. More will come up as time passes.) Anyways, like I was saying before my train of thought got derailed, I thought I should post something photography related! So here it is.. (It is also geeky) fourier 4D photography!
Oh! I almost forgot! I finally added some photos to our company webpage! Unfortunately if you are using shaw's dns server(s) you will most likely not be able to view our page, because for some reason shaw is rather stubborn about working properly with my friends server/vhosts.. or at least the vhost set up for firefly anyways. You might want to try using 18.104.22.168 as a primary dns instead.
If you live around Vancouver we will take pictures for you! We are mostly into doing portraits right now, (family, personal, we will even do pets!) but we hope to have a healthy selection of art photography for sale as well.
And that is all I've got for now. I'll try to post once a day.. or at least once every 2 days or so. Enjoy the nice weather if you are lucky enough to have the sun and not below freezing with snow.. Unless you are into that kind of thing.

Thought I might share some more of my photographs! That last one was wanted by HCI publishing for a little while (chicken soup for the soul) but they wanted all rights and they told me to make them an offer. How damn backwards is that? So I made a little guess as to what might be somewhat fair seeing as how much money they would be making off of my picture, I offered something like $2000 and the lady was like "pshhht, yeah right, you are out of your mind" so I am guessing that they were looking for some amateur fool to lowball, Not me!
Google gets wings
if you have a google account, (if you have gmail you have one of these) Head on over and click on the Personalized Home link and then the Sign in link. Of course I would take all the hard work out of it for you but my blogging tool seems to hate google's really big long links. If you don't have an account I'll let you head on over and click on the "personalize your google homepage" link. I think this is one of the most fantastic things to happen to google in a long time.
Anyways... Go! Go try it now!
A very basic image editing 'tutorial'(?) that I found, lots of opinions about which steps to do and when.
What do you think?

Hi! I have decided on a direction for this blog! It is going to be about photography and imaging and such things! I hope that I can actually do something that people will want to see.. I guess we will find out (or at least I will anyways!)
To start I am going to mention betterphoto.com and their 'photo of the day' newsletter. Now, often in this newsletter you can see photos such as this:
Fantastic photo. Nice composition, nice saturated colours and an interesting (to some anyways) subject.
However! Some mornings I open my e-mail to find something that hardly resembles a photograph at all!
What the heck! This has obviously been so digitally deranged that it hardly even resembles a traditional photograph! Things like this really get my goat. And that is my rant for the day.

Another day another $100
So the way I figure it I make ~$100 a day, (before taxes of course) the government, in 2 weeks gets at least 1 days pay from me. So what am I really paying the government for? I think they should send me an employee for 1 day.
That way I could sit around and do nothing, or better yet go take pictures all day!
... in hawaii! Ok so I am just dreaming now. Oh well, it's a good thing I like my job. See I work at océ display graphics systems with lots of geeky engineers. I get to play with all the things I like! Computers, testing equipment, all kinds of funky hardware. I can't wait to print one of my photos out on this baby!
Imagine that, 6 ft/12 ft of pure imaging joy!
Typically this is the kind of thing I work with all day:
printing and testing and trying to eek the best quality out of the next line of printers. Plus, this is my first job ever where I get my own cubicle! Comment me some suggestions if you have any cool tips for decor/functionality!
Well! I guess it is about time to get to work!
